3D modelling

Norman

Norman was a character I developed from the start of university. For the first year we had a character design project where the original concept was born. In my second year I developed the character further and also modelled a bedroom scene for him. Then in the third year I finally created my first model low poly model for him. This is definitely a project I would like to return to in the future and perfect as well as adding more assets.

Robot

This is a character I was responsible for creating as part of a group project. It was a robot the main character of the story was building and was mainly inspired by the characters in the 'Robots' movie. I really enjoyed exploring the ideas for this character and experimenting with how the joints would move together. This was the first time I experimented with Substance Painter and I loved playing around with the level of rust and ware that really sold the character.

Cat

I worked on this project within a group and initially it was going to be a series of cat shorts. I used this project to explore new shaders and really took to the Toon shader on Maya and felt it really fit the feel of the project. Sadly towards the end we experienced some rigging issues therefore couldn't complete the animation so I decided to add some changes to the look and get in a simple turnaround to submit. But despite it not turning out as planned I'm really proud of the experimentation and back up work I did and I feel that's equally as important to show as the final look itself.

animation

In my first year of University I explored the animation side, it was in the second year I decided that I was more drawn to the art and modelling. Animation was still something I really enjoyed and would love to continue in the future so I've decided to include my first go at it as it was a big milestone in my work.
